State Dance in Minot

They arrived in Minot with flashy outfits and pom-poms and they re hoping to leave with the title of champion Once again this year the Magic City is playing host to the North Dakota Association of Dance and Drill s State Danceteam Championships Dancers from both Class A and B schools competed in events like jazz and hip-hop pom and kick The competition began yesterday and finals wrapped-up early this afternoon NDADD Vice President Barb Ness says the event continues to grow each year and it provides a lot of excitement for both dancers and spectators Barb Ness NDADD Vice Pres It s just fun It s a sport where if you don t play Basketball or vollyeball I mean there are basketball players and Volleyball players that do this but it s just a great sport for self-confidence and self-esteem and it s just fun Competitors range from Junior High to Varsity level and awards are given for several events in each age division
